Gaslamp Strip Club

Okay, so first off, how do you not love the name: “The Strip Club”? We just love the look we get from people when we suggest going there for dinner. You can only imagine what thoughts and imagery are being conjured up at that point and potential regrets of having to explain yourself the next day. Not to worry, because what’s even better are the looks you get when you explain it is a “strip club” as in “strips” of steak and, boy, when it comes to having some killer steak, this is the place to hang.

What makes Strip Club more than just a steak joint is the unique establishment itself. It is robust and full of life and for adults only, and that is meant literally. Strip Club opens evenings at 5:30 p.m. and that’s when the party starts. This place is as much a party bar as it is a steakhouse so no one under twenty-one is allowed. This is a venue where laughter abounds, the drinks are flowing and good cheer swirls freely. Now are you ready for the coolest thing yet? You get to cook your own steak!

Although part of the “strip club” motif is correct and you can see that by looking around. Adorning the walls is classic artwork by icon Alberto Vargas, the original Playboy cover artist. Accompanying these sexy masterpieces is the charming staff, with bubbly 80’style charismatic fish-net stockings and attitude to match. The servers are helpful and there to ensure a fine time is had by all. Even the napkins have voluptuous silhouettes, the original “skin” label design, just like the mud-flaps on a big ol’ semi.

The venue itself is decked out with sparkling lighting that glitters across the wooden crisscrossed ceiling. There are lavish black booths for your seating pleasure and are decked out with radiating candles (like you needed more to set the mood). A massive bar overlooks the entire restaurant, enticing you to sample. Go for a martini or grab some tasty tidbit from the self-service wine bar. Fun 80’s music fills your senses as videos play over big-screen TV’s throughout.

While all of this is fine and dandy, it would be just another “good-time” nightclub if it wasn’t for the fine steaks and other delectable eats that makes a visit here a must. You have a 12oz New York Strip, 8 oz Fillet Mignon, the Strip Club Skirt Steak, 12oz Bone-in Rib Eye and a massive 20oz Porterhouse (yes that really says 20oz) among others.

The venue has four grills waiting for you to season your steak and cook it to your liking. There are accoutrements galore, such as Cajun, Worchester sauce, garlic, salt, pepper; you name it and its there for you. So pick your poison and cook up that baby on the barby. If you can imagine standing around the grill, chatting with your friends, daring each other to add that extra something to your meat, while sipping on a cocktail, then you can imagine the joy of Strip Club. There’s also quite a bit of friendly banter from the other diners.
