With all of its continued encouragement of recreation that embodies creativity, LEGOLAND California in Carlsbad has now gone even further at entertaining the next generation of LEGO builders. What began with the opening of LEGOLAND Water Park last year, has now annexed an even more kid-friendly section called Splash Zoo. Splash Zoo utilizes the DUPLO product line that is specifically designed for ages 1 to 3, the more bulky and less intricate system of blocks kids are given before graduating into the LEGO system. Within the Splash Zoo, you will find some of the familiar set of DUPLO animals now life size and ready with their own interactive features to deliver saturating fun for toddlers.

In comparison to other waterparks within San Diego, such as Knott's Soak City, LEGOLAND’s may not have the size of its rivals; it is contained entirely within LEGOLAND, so you have to go to one in order to go to the other. But the synergy between enjoying an amusement park and having an attractive option to cool off is remarkable in its appeal. The $12 upgrade won’t seem so steep on a hot summer day and is included in ticket options that allow you to explore all the areas of the LEGOLAND. Because of its location, designers have been able to precisely design an experience that is unlike full scale waterparks yet still retains the spirit of youthful discovery that is LEGO. For starters, the actual water in LEGOLAND Water Park is noticeably warmer than its competitors, a comfortable 80 degrees. This makes weather hardly a factor in enjoying the water park attractions, the temperature is on your side, even on an overcast day.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that the water park is a place where only a kid can be a hero. It has seven slides, some with a muti-rider rafts, as well as Build-A-Raft River capable of spurring nostalgic creativity in you as you drift along at a relaxed pace. From now until September 5, LEGOLAND Water Park will be the place for families and big kids alike.
