Originally created as a time slot for late night animation, Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming block has gradually become the breeding ground for some of the most cutting edge live action comedies in recent years. The cast of Childrens Hospital and NTSF:SD:SUV:: two of Adult Swim’s latest additions to their live-action roster, were on hand at Comic-Con 2011 to discuss their upcoming seasons and sign autographs for fans.

Childrens Hospital was originally a web series created by Rob Corrdry during the 2008 writer’s strike. Currently in its third season, Childrens Hospital parody’s previous medical dramas like E.R. and St. Elsewhere by making the doctors and nurses half-witted sex addicts living somewhere in Brazil. Led by Rob Corrdry as Dr. Blake Downs, he appears in clown makeup every episode as a member of the “clown race” and chooses to practice the healing power of laughter outside of actual medicine. Corddry has an all-star supporting cast featuring Ken Marino (Party Down) Megan Mullally (Will & Grace) Malin Akerman (The Heartbreak Kid) Lake Bell (Boston Legal), Erin Hayes (Parenthood) and appearing as the Sy Mittleman the hospital administrator, Henry “The Fonz” Winkler.

The newest addition to the Adult Swim lineup is NTSF:SD:SUV:: (National Terrorism Strike Force San Diego Sports Utility Vehicle) created by and starring comedian Paul Scheer. Currently starring as Andre in The League on FX, NTSF:SD:SUV:: finds Scheer as the leader of a clandestine group of government agents whose main goal is protect America’s Finest City (San Diego) from the ongoing terrorist attacks from “evil countries” such as Mexico, Canada and Guam. Rounding out the cast of NTSF:SD:SUV:: is Scheer’s wife, actress June Diane Raphael(Human Giant), Martin Starr (Party Down), Brandon Johnson (Upright Citizens Brigade)  Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street) and Rebecca Romijn as the overly attractive lab technician Jessie.

SanDiego.com was inside the Adult Swim press room at Comic-Con 2011 and got a chance to speak with the casts of Childrens Hospital and NTSF:SD:SUV:: and found out what fans can expect to see in the upcoming seasons.
