Buying Real Estate/Renting in San Diego
San Diego offers great diversity through its dozens of neighborhoods, from Chula Vista in the south, Hillcrest in the heart of the city, and the many beach neighborhoods along the coast. In general, older and smaller homes can be found in the southern and eastern regions of San Diego, while more recently developed areas lie to the North. San Diego Schools
Most of the city of San Diego is served by the San Diego Unified School District, and a collection of nearly 50 school districts serve the outer regions of the county. In terms of higher education, San Diego is home to three public state universities, two major private universities, and five community college systems.

Public Transportation
The Metropolitan Transit System runs bus and trolley services throughout all of San Diego County, helpful for commuters and visitors to San Diego alike. With 53 stations on trolley services and 89 routes for buses, MTS will get you where you need to go. The Coaster, a commuter train running between Oceanside and downtown San Diego, is another option, offering an unbeatable scenic route.

Utilities
San Diego Gas & Electric serves all of San Diego County and offers money-saving and energy-saving options. For information on the city’s water supply, visit the Water Department of the City of San Diego Public Utilities. Cable, Internet, and phone services are provided mainly by two major companies, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable. DMV
The DMV has nine convenient locations around San Diego County, as far north as Oceanside and as far south as San Ysidro. For convenience, many DMV services are now offered online and appointments can also be made online for faster service.

Post Offices
With 25 locations throughout San Diego, the United States Postal Service can be found right in your neighborhood. To save time, many services are now offered online, including official change of address forms.

Public Libraries
The San Diego Public Library serves every region of San Diego with 36 branches around the city. Books and other library materials can also be requested from other libraries, including the university collections at UCSD and SDSU. Services for new American immigrants can also be found at any San Diego Public Library branch, including citizenship preparation, an international language collection, and English learning materials.

Hospitals
Sharp, Scripps, and the UCSD Health System are the major hospital networks in San Diego, with locations in every region of the city. Each offers urgent care and a full range of medical services and specialists.
