Located in North County 20 miles north of San Diego, Del Mar is home to two beautiful beaches bordering north of the Torrey Pines State Reserve and next to "Where the Surf Meets the Turf," the famous Del Mar Racetrack. This upscale beach community is one of the most popular cities in North County with its great beaches, fairgrounds, and horseracing. It also has one of North County's best cycling routes.

Lifeguards: Lifeguards are stationed year-round at Del Mar Beach. They are on Duty at Solana Beach from 10:00am – 6:00pm and 9:00am - 8:30pm at La Jolla Beach.
Water Activity: Swimming, walking, surfing, body boarding, and even grunion hunting are just some of the activities you can enjoy at Del Mar beach. At Fletcher Cove there is surfing, surf-fishing swimming, body- boarding, jogging, and walking. At Tide beach there it is a little different but there is snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, body boarding, jogging, walking , and as well as surfing and surf-fishing. At La Jolla Beach there is Kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
Restrooms/Showers: At Del Mar public restrooms and showers are located near the beach at 17th Street and at the new community center at Power House Park.

Camping: No camping is allowed at Del Mar Beach.
Beach Fires: There are no fires allowed.
Alcohol: Alcohol is not permitted on all beaches.
Directions & Parking:
Del Mar Beach: From the I-5 North. Head south on I-5 south take the Del Mar Heights Rd. exit Turn right at Del Mar Heights Rd. Turn right at Camino del Mar. Turn Left at 25th street then right at ocean Front. Parking is paid and available across the Powerhouse park.
