La Jolla Cove

Located on Coast Boulevard in La Jolla, La Jolla Cove is known for the some of the clearest water in San Diego and perhaps the most photographic vistas in the area. The cove is an ideal location for scuba diving and snorkeling, offering underwater reefs with plenty of marine life, like sea anemone, starfish, frequent views of seals, and the occasional grouper fish.

Life Guards
Summer hours, generally 9:00 a.m. to dusk. Other times of the year, 10:00 a.m.

Water Activity
Reserved for swimming and diving. Diving when surf conditions are low.

Restrooms/Showers
Located at Scripps Park beside La Jolla Cove.

Disabled Accessibility
Beach is NOT disabled accessible.

Prohibited

Alcohol
Consumption of alcohol is prohibited at all times.

Other Prohibited Items
Floatation devices & Spears. Removal or possession of sea life or artifacts.
