Spiritual/Emotional Health

Welcome to my blog where I hope to share some insights to encourage my fellow humans on this journey we call "life".  As a Christian, I realize more and more each day that our spirituallife has a deep and profound impact upon our emotional health and well-being.  I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I feel my best when I start my day with a reading in the Bible and a prayer written in my journal to my Heavenly Father.  In addition to this, I take a 30-45 minute walk somewhere beautiful where I can clear my mind and focus on the beauty of God's handiwork.  It seems so simple really - if I just spend time with God in His word and in His nature, my mood is more stable and I feel more joy despite what the rest of the day brings.  Even though I KNOW this is the best way for me to operate, I still go for two or three days where I leave the house without my reading and prayer.  It isn't too long before my children are on my last nerve, my work seems overwhelming and the freeway is making me feel crazy.

I can identify with the apostle Paul when he said, "I do the things I don't want to do and I don't do the things I want to do."  There is something about this human nature that wants to think we can do it on our own and plow through our day without much thought or care for our spiritual and emotional self in relation to Father God.

I pray God will bless you who read this blog and that He may empower you to start healthy habits that will nourish your spiritual and emotional health each day.

I am just wondering what you like most about San Diego. Perhaps this is a rather silly question. I visited a few times over the years and find SD to be one of my favorite cities in the nation with the best climate I've ever experienced.
