Business Networking is alive and well in San Diego! Did you know that there are over 200 monthly networking events happening all around the county? Let me introduce myself. I’m Mindy Selinger, publisher of The San Diego Networking Guide, the most comprehensive networking event calendar & newsletter in San Diego.

Networking And The City is brought to you courtesy of SanDiego.com . The purpose of this blog is to start an interactive discussion of the local networking scene. Browse through the articles; learn how to make your networking efforts more effective.

The most often-asked question I get is, “What networking group should I join?” That is impossible to answer, because effective networking relies on many factors. Who do you need to meet? How much time can you commit to Networking? Is your business local, national or international? For insight, check this article.

Whatever your needs are, there is a group, association or event that will provide the connections you need. It is my job to help you find the events and make those connections.

Networking And The City will highlight upcoming events and critique past events, but for a full accounting of all known upcoming events (over 200!) you will need to enroll in a free subscription to the San Diego Networking Guide (SDNG) newsletter and calendar. It is locally produced, (by me) and delivered to your inbox twice monthly.

I first started offering the SDNG over 5 years ago for my coaching clients, and it has grown to over 200 monthly events. The guide is a free resource…free for the groups listed, and free subscription for the readers. Networking And The City is an interactive extension of the SDNG. The blog has different categories of postings:

- San Diego Networking Scene - What’s going on with different groups and articles on networking

- Mindy’s Musings - Observations of a personal nature, often humorous, of the trials & tribulations of being self-employed and a serial networker. (Maybe even an occasional rant.)

- VINs: Very Important Networkers

- Profiles of those who are making it all happen

- Reader’s Report - Learn about the hot new business books!

The public is welcome to leave comments or submit articles (contact me about articles). Tell us about your networking experiences… what works…. what does not. Tell us about groups you want to applaud and “VINs” you want to showcase. This is your forum!

Go Forth and Network!
