| Frankly, I don't care 1 way or the other about a cross on Mt. Soledad. What I do object to is the vast amount of tax payer funds that have been used over the years. I also object to the hypocrisy of it all. Call it what it is: A cross to promote Chrisitan religious beliefs in a multi-cultural society. This is NOT a war memorial! If they want a was memoria;, bring down the cross and put up a memorial. Moderate Christians don't want to get involved lest they appear anti-religious. The Jewish comunity won't get involved because they like to stay out of these issues. So it is left to the outer fringes on both sides to wage this silly debate. I say leave it and include a Menorah, Crescent, Kokpelli and rainbow for us athiests. | ||

| Don't be ridiculous. When 75% of Americans are of a Christian denomination, and all the other denominations make up, at most, 8%, it's quite clear that the existence of the Cross isn't about to change. The idea of including a Menorah, Crescant, etc. is also ridiculous, since there are over 6 thousand denominations in the United States alone; should we then include each of their symbols? The Cross is a symbol of sacrifice for peace. How that can be offensive is beyond me. | ||
