Home of Belmont Park's world-famous wooden roller coaster, mission beach is the most in family fun and entertainment. Rides range from Bumper Cars to simulated wave attractions. There tends to be a younger crowd (twenty somethings) on the beach. The place to see and be seen is on the boardwalk - which can be quite crowded with, rollerbladeer, joggers, runners, bikers and more. Speed is regulated and must be kept to eight miles per hour or less.

- Life Guards: Staffed daily, year round at at the foot of Grand Avenue. Generally duty is from 9:00 a.m. to dusk.
- Water Activity: Separate water areas reserved for swimming and surfing
- Restrooms/Showers: On Ventura Street lifeguard station, as well as at the south side of Belmont Park and at the South Mission Beach Jetties.
- Disabled Accessibility: Mission Beach Boardwalk is accessible to wheelchairs.
- Beach Fires: Containers for beach fires are provided during summer months, they are available on a first come, first served basis.

Take Interstate 5 to Grand Avenue. Continue west to Mission Boulevard, take Mission Boulevard south the roller coaster at West Mission Bay Drive
