San Diego SportsChargers Wives Focus of New “E! True Hollywood Story”
Better halves of LT, Quentin Jammer share screen with Playboy Playmate, others LaDainian Tomlinson is adept at answering media questions—mainly about what happens on the football field. The San Diego Chargers’ remarkable running back is less prepared to talk in front of cameras about his personal life. ![]() LaTorsha and LaDanian Tomlinson. Courtesy photo from E! Network. But that’s what he did Sunday, when his wife, LaTorsha, left a present in his locker prior to the Chargers game against the Philadelphia Eagles: A box that contained…her positive pregnancy test. Emotionally, LT let everybody in sight know that he was going to become a dad. San Diegans—and the international viewing audience of the E! Network—will get to hear even more about the personal lives of the Tomlinsons. Along with Chargers cornerback Quentin Jammer and his wife, Alicia, they’ll be part of Football Wives: The E! True Hollywood Story. It premieres Wednesday night (November 18) at 8 p.m. It was just a coincidence that teammates’ wives were picked for the show, says E! executive producer Suzanne Ross. “These shows can be difficult to book, but we had enough interest that we could pick the best stories,” says Ross. “We definitely wanted to highlight women who are confident and independent, and could debunk the myth that all NFL wives are just arm candy.” A press release about the show reads: “In relationships ranging from high school sweethearts to the taboo cheerleader/player hookup, being married to a pro footballer may sound like a touchdown, but with constant threats from groupies and the chance their hubby will be cut from the team, these women must play to win every day.” Ross admits E! Network shows can run to the racy/sexy side of the street. To that end, the couples on the one-hour show include former NFL player/playa’ Adam Archuletta and his fiancé, former Playboy Playmate Jennifer Walcott; and Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez and his wife October, both who recently posed nearly nude in a PETA ad. San Diego’s NFL wives offer balance. Alicia Jammer’s segment includes cameras going along with the couple to an adoption agency. The couple has two boys, and they’re looking to adopt a girl. ![]() Quentin and Alicia Jammer Courtesy photo from E! Network. And the piece on LaTorsha includes a visit to her Snug Pet Resort, as well as a trip to a recording studio, where she works on songs that will appear on her upcoming CD. LaTorsha says LaDainian had a very positive initial reaction to the idea of doing the show. “Then he had some concerns about how candid I can be,” she says. “He said ‘Just don’t tell them everything, please.’” The show includes a sit-down interview with the football husbands. Was it an uncomfortable time in front of the camera for LT? “I asked him how it went afterward, and he said it was really different,” says LaTorsha. “He said, ‘I’m used to talking about football, and they were asking me questions about you. I’m not used to talking about how I love my wife.’” LaTorsha says she hasn’t gotten to preview the show, but isn’t worried about anything she may have said or done. She won’t get to see the show when it first airs because she’ll be at Bible Study. No worries, though. “I’ll TiVo it,” she says. LaTorsha is due to deliver the Tomlinsons' first child on July 24. They will get the ultrasound to determine the baby’s gender but are going to ask the doctor to write it down and seal it in an envelope. “Then we’ll go out to dinner and discover it together, and make that another exciting part of the pregnancy,” she says. And for the record, the baby’s name—whether it’s a boy or a girl—will not start with a “La” like mom and dad’s. “We’re putting an end to that,” she says.
