Irish to the Max
While the Gaslamp Quarter is sometimes referred to as the Italian Mile of Meals, the Field is proving there's room for more than one style here. Walk into the dark corridors, and you find yourself in a genuine Irish pub, with a long bar, tables on the side, and Irish bric-a-brac hanging from the walls. But travel up to the second floor, and there's a quaint restaurant overlooking the bar, serving up some very respectable Irish cuisine.
The Corned beef and cabbage are the best, the Irish stew succulent, and there's also something called a Boxtie.
Sort of an Irish burrito, it's a pancake like wrapping around stewy, seasoned meat. Very different, very good, and a very delightful place for a touch of the old Irish.
