The best thing about shopping at Cecilia's Boutique in Mission Hills is the confidence you’ll have knowing that the owner, Elizabeth Leffler, will hook you up. She’s the hip friend who lends you clothes from her really cool closet.

Leffler began in fashion as a stylist working for famed music photographer Paul Natkin, who has photographed Tom Petty, Prince, John Mayor, Freddie Mercury and many others. What Leffler discovered working as a stylist is her love of working one-on-one with clients and helping people find their perfect look.

A warm and confident blond, Leffler was born in Collinsville, Illinois, a small town of 24,000 (known as the Horseradish Capital of the World). She brings her small town sweetness to the store, making it feel warm, welcoming, and very girly, with exposed wood beams, hardwood floors, beautiful chandeliers and pink curtains. The clothes are hung around the store according to color and style. She’s made note of how women shop and applies it to making their shopping experience as easy as possible.

Trained at the Fashion Institute of Merchandise Marketing, Leffler understands it’s better to be on trend but not trendy. Her target audience is working women who need their clothes to transition easily from day to night. Given the proximity of Mission Hills to so many schools, Cecelia’s also caters to moms who want to look cute.

Leffler is ready for Spring. Currently, the store features dresses in bright colors with lots of florals, ruffles and bows. She says suits are making a comeback, as are mini skirts, in both high waisted and super mini styles.

Since Leffler opened, she’s offered local jewelry and many local clothing designers. One of her close friends is Brook Catherine of BCAT Threads. Catherine designs clothes in a 1940s style with a modern flare. Her high-waisted skirts have become her signature. She creates sexy pieces that can be worn for work or play.

Leffler says she’s become most known for her denim lines—Level 99, Divine Rights of Denim and Joe Jeans. She says she can’t keep them in stock, the demand has been so high. She’s also found huge success with Prarie Underground, Stacia and Corey Lynn Calter’s line, “Bird on a Wire.”

From Big Budah and Eco skin handbags, to Conchita jewelry and Misha designs, there’s affordable and good-looking merchandise in abundance.

Leffler dresses women while keeping their insecurities in mind. She helps them find clothes that make them feel pretty. She’s the friend who doesn’t criticize; she’s honest but not brutal. Cecilia’s has all the clothes and accessories to look classic, trendy or totally unique. She's the perfect BFF.
