The Chillers Showroom boutique interprets the laid-back SoCal style by offering a casual, all-cotton clothing line--at a great price. Customers who shop here find looks that scream beachy California hip. And in case you haven’t noticed, the graphic tee is the must-have staple of the moment. Chillers makes some of the most unique tees around.

Owned by La Jolla native and good-looking metro-sexual surfer-dude Eric Blumenthal, Chillers just may put Cass Street and Pacific Beach back on the map for cool, underground shopping opportunity.

In an enormous, industrial-looking space with exposed wood beams, concrete floors, sheet metal moldings, a flat-screen TV and track lighting, Blumenthal is hoping to create a shopping experience for customers. “Comfort is our main focus and hopefully the store reflects that,” he says.

The 5,000 square foot boutique, formerly an upholstery store, boasts a lounge complete with wine and espresso. Custom silk-screens hang on the walls with ready to print original tees, and there’s enough space out back to have a rad beach party.

The Chillers line got its start in La Jolla, with limited-edition tees. The designers are chosen from around the world and encouraged to incorporate their various cultures into the designs. The materials used are high quality and printed using water-based inks and actual silk-screens—no machines.

In addition to the Chillers line, the store carries the very in-style line M2F Denim. The eco-friendly and colorfully dyed items have become a favorite of celebrities.

If you’re looking for the accessory most in demand this season, Chillers carries Echo Design scarves. This company is known for their print, pattern, color and design. Echo started designing scarves in 1923 and has branched out to become the line that defines the look of resort-wear, at a price that keeps women coming back.

Chillers also carries the very trendy L.A. jewelry collection B. Boheme, known for pairing semi-precious stones with 14k gold fill, or sterling silver chains. The designer, Bara, began selling on the street and says that Paula Abdul walked by one day and spent so much money she was able to open her first store in West Hollywood. Bara has gone on to make custom pieces for Patricia Arquette and Sandra Bernhard.

If ladies are still shopping for the perfect swimsuit for summer, Chillers just started adding their cool graphic designs to the lycra suits; they’re silk-screened by hand, then manufactured in Brazil.

For a more urban feel Blank jeans can be found here. Blank’s motto: Not all premium denim comes with a premium price tag. New York edgy downtown style meets sophisticated hipster, the line has a faithful celebrity following, with fans like Rihanna, Megan Fox and Hillary Duff.

Transitioning from his job as traveling salesman selling the Chillers line out of a suitcase with samples, Blumenthal finally has a home base and a boutique he can call his own.
