WATCH: The Soft Pack
The Soft Pack are one of the latest bands to emerge from San Diego and step into the national spotlight. The success of their debut album helped catapult the group to headliner status and a coveted performance on The Late Show with David Letterman, which frontman Matt Lamkin dedicated to the late Warren Zevon (a close friend of Letterman.)
The band formed in 2007 and originally called themselves The Muslims, but soon opted to changed their name to avoid ignorant and racist comments they would often receive during live shows and interviews. The band released their first full-length record to rave reviews on February 2nd 2010, and would go on to tour both Europe and the states including a clutch set at last year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Their video for “Answer to Yourself” was shot on location at Del Mar Pizza, where the band occasionally frequented during their formative years in America’s Finest City.
