VIDEO: Pixies "Head On"
The Pixies are a four-piece band from Boston that helped pave the way for the alternative rock movement to flourish in the 1990s. Founded by front Black Francis (aka Frank Black), The Pixies embodied the concept of high art made by average people. Consisting of Joey Santiago on lead guitar, David Lovering on drums and Kim Deal on bass, the band would go to make a major impact in both American and the U.K. where their level popularity far exceeded that than in the states.
Disbanding in the early nineties, the group reformed in 2004 and performed for sold out audiences across the globe, including a coveted headlining spot at the 2004 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival. Taken from their final studio album 1991’s Trompe Le Monde, this video from 1991 captures the Pixies performing a live cover of The Jesus And Mary Chain’s classic cult hit, “Head on” from 12 different camera angles.
