Since Petco Park is located right smack in the middle of Downtown San Diego, it also means it’s right smack in the middle of the many Gaslamp eateries.  From $3 burgers to spaghetti and steak, there’s so many more options to choose from than just your average ballpark frank.

Quality Social
789 6th Avenue, San Diego, 619-501-7675
The restaurant has Monday through Friday Happy Hours that almost revolves around the Padres game. The Social Hour (5 p.m.- 7 p.m.) has a varied food selection, with most prices under $6.  Selections include house-made hot dogs (Chicago style!), burgers, pretzels, and even duck wings and bacon-wrapped dates. Drink prices are also wallet-friendly.  Wells, drafts, house wine and Pickle Backs (a shot of Jameson Whiskey and Pickle brine) are all only $3.

After the baseball game, head on back to Quality Social for its Late Night Happy Hour (10 p.m.-midnight).  The menu features a selection of house-cured meats, all for only $2.

A full menu and prices can be found online. Call for reservations.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood
Omni Hotel, 675 L Street, San Diego, 619-645-6545
This upscale small chain is well known for its fine selection of seafood (which can be pricey) but offers delicious ballpark-friendly fares as well.  Their Happy Hour (3-7 p.m. daily) has discounted food and drinks, with Bar Food Menu of selections starting at $1.95 (no joke!).  The most popular item on their Happy Hour Menu is the burger and fries combo, a fantastic steal for only $3.

Almost better than its food is McCormick & Schmick’s location near Petco Park. The restaurant is located in the Omni Hotel, right around the corner from the 7th Avenue Petco Park entrance.  If you're lucky enough to be staying at the hotel, there's even a private skybridge that connects directly from the hotel to the ballpark for easier access.

Tilted Kilt
310 10th Avenue, San Diego, 619-814-5458
The Tilted Kilt provides a fun atmosphere similar to Hooters. This sports bar offers all kinds of pub food, from sandwiches and wraps to pizza and burgers—all served by waitresses in midriff-bearing uniforms complete with a kilt.  They also have a long list of beers, wines, cocktails and shooters.

This place may not be the best to bring a family, unless it's a Boys Night Out. The Tilted Kilt is also located right next door to the ball park--it sits practically on the Park at the Park.

Even during away games, the Tilted Kilt still has Padres spirit; go in wearing a jersey during any away game and receive 25 percent off your order.  They also have shot specials each time a Padres player hits a homerun on the road. For larger parties, call ahead to make a reservation.

Gaslamp Strip Club
340 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, 619-231-3140
The Gaslamp Stip Club is located on 5th Avenue, just two blocks away from Petco Park. The steak "lounge" has a daily Happy Hour (5-7 p.m.) with wells and bottled beers for $3. Besides Happy Hour, the Strip Club gives Padres fans another reason to visit; the Home Game Tailgate Party offers good deals on good steaks and other hearty fare. Before all San Diego Padres home games ,enjoy a 10 oz. Skirt Steak, 10 oz. Baseball Cut Top Sirloin or a Double Chicken Breast along with salad and garlic bread for just $10. They also offer 2 lbs. of wings and a pitcher of beer for $20.

The Gaslamp Strip Club is no-kids-allowed; patrons must be 21 or older to enter. For parties of 6 or more, call ahead to make a reservation.

Old Spaghetti Factory
275 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, 619-233-4323
A more kid-friendly choice for grub before the game is the Old Spaghetti Factory, located in the heart of the Gaslamp District just a couple  block from Petco Park. The kid's menu has favorites like Spaghetti and Meatballs and Grilled Cheese.  There's also Happy Hour every Monday through Friday (4:30 – 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. - close) with decently priced appetizers.

While you can’t make reservation, the OSF offers call-ahead service to get you seated faster; call (619) 233-4323 to get your name on the waitlist.
