Chromeo Brings the Funk to House of Blues
Featuring opening act Mayer Hawthorne
Canadian Electrofunk duo Chromeo will be performing at San Diego’s House of Blues this Monday, October 17 as part of their 2011 “Night Falls Tour.” Currently on the road in support of the latest album, Business Casual, Chromeo first appeared on the music scene with their 2004 debut album, She’s in Control. They released their sophomore album Fancy Footwork in 2007 to critical acclaim, with the success of the album catapulting the duo into international fame as they performed at dance clubs and music festivals around the world.
Consisting of P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel) and Dave 1 (David Macklovitch), the duo first met in the 1990’s when the two found themselves in the same high school band in Canada. After releasing their debut album She’s in Control in 2004 to less than favorable reviews, the duo took a three year hiatus and regrouped with 2007’s Fancy Footwork. The album received positive reviews from fans and critics and helped design their electronic dance funk sound that has become their unique calling card and trademark sound. Opening for Chromeo will be Stones Throw recording artist Mayer Hawthorne.
