  1. History: The San Diego Chargers played their first game at the brand new arena called San Diego Stadium in 1967. The stadium was later renamed the San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium after the death of popular sports writer Jack Murphy. In 1997, the stadium once again changed its name to its current title, Qualcomm Stadium, after the local telecommunication company, which donated $18 million to the stadium's expansion project. 
  2. Venue: In 1997 when Qualcomm Stadium San Diego was renovated and expanded, 10,500 seats were added in addition to four new club lounges, two video boards, and 34 suites. San Diego Qualcomm Stadium now features 70,561 seats, 52 concession stands, three restaurants and two gift shops.
  3. Chargers and Aztec Turf: San Diego Qualcomm Stadium is home to both the San Diego Chargers and the San Diego State Aztecs. The Chargers are the only Southern California professional football team, while the Aztecs currently hold thirteen conference championship titles.
