  1. Exhibits: The Putnam Foundation Collection is on permanent display at the San Diego Timken Museum of Art. This collection features American, Russian, Dutch, Flemish, French and Italian artwork spanning nearly 600 years in history.

The San Diego art museum is located in Balboa ParkThe Putnam Foundation Collection is the permanent artwork that is exhibited at the San Diego Timken Museum of Art. Russian, American and European art is shown in the collection, representing nearly 600 years of history. The gallery is organized by national school, separating the artwork into the following categories: Italian and Spanish paintings, Dutch and Flemish paintings, French paintings, American paintings and Russian icons. Sculptures and tapestries are on display as well at the San Diego art museum. The Timken Museum also proudly features San Diego's only artwork by famous Dutch artist Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn.

Guests are invited to visit the San Diego art museum free of charge. The Timken Museum also offers free guided tours to educate the public about the historic artwork, as the exhibits represent different cultures, countries and time periods. Friends of the Timken, the art museum's membership program, welcomes the public to get involved. Friends of the Timken members are granted access into member-only events and receive invitations to regional tours, preview exhibits and special events held at the Timken Museum as well.
