Southern California's weather makes it the ideal place to play golf year-round. The Farmers Insurance Open is an annual PGA Tour event that has taken place at Torrey Pines in San Diego since 1968. It's returning yet again this year. Here's what you need to know.

When is the Farmers Insurance Open 2024?

The Farmers Insurance Open for 2024 kicks off on Wednesday, January 24, and goes until Saturday, January 27. During these four days, there will be a daily schedule.

On Wednesday and Thursday, January 24 and 25, the public gates open at 8:30 a.m., and play is expected to end at 4 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, January 26 and 27, the public gates open at 9 a.m., and play is expected to end by 5 p.m. 

Tee times will be announced the night before each event, and the trophy presentation is expected to occur after play ends on Saturday.

What Course is the Farmers Insurance Open Played at in San Diego?

The Farmers Insurance Open is expected to take place on both the North and South Courses of Torrey Pines on Wednesday and Thursday. The final two days of the golf event in San Diego will take place on the South Course.

The trophy presentation will also take place on the South Course on Saturday.

How to get to the Farmers Insurance Open 2024

Since parking at an event like this can be tedious with all the attendees, there are multiple rideshare lots and shuttles that will take visitors to Torrey Pines. The course is 20 minutes from downtown San Diego. Travelers are advised to take I-5 to the Genesee Ave exit west, to the North Torrey Pines Road, and then follow the signs.


There are also multiple parking options, and the fees must be paid in advance.

What's the Weather like at the Farmers Insurance Open?

Since the Farmers Insurance Open is held in San Diego, La Jolla, to be exact, it goes without saying that the weather is expected to be reminiscent of Southern California during that time frame. The weather at the end of January is typically mid- to high 60s during the day and mid-40s at night.
