First Annual La Costa Film Festival - San Diego Event Visitors Won't Want to Miss
San Diego is known for hosting big over the top events like Comic-Con International, San Diego Pride and the world's largest Earth Day fair. But, this incredible city is also host to an array of smaller, more intimate events like the Mission Federal ArtWalk and Apple Days in Julian. Each San Diego event celebrates an intricate piece of culture and 2013 marks the debut of the highly anticipated La Costa Film Festival.
October 24-27th, the serene setting of the La Costa Resort and Spa will be overrun with movie lovers and film critics ready and waiting to cast an eye on the latest film projects at the first annual La Costa Film Festival. With founders Michael and Ruby Callihan, of non-profit La Costa Dreams, Inc., at the helm and an experienced and professional support staff, the La Costa Film Festival is sure to be a San Diego event visitors won't want to miss. It's a chance to mingle with the who's who of San Diego and rub elbows with cultured and intriguing film connoisseurs in the beautiful setting of La Costa Resort and Spa.
This cultural event is designed to celebrate appreciation of the arts and label north county San Diego as a top destination for entertainment. San Diego’s close proximity to Hollywood has made it a popular getaway for the stars throughout the years, and La Costa Resort and Spa is no exception. The walls of the resort used to be covered in old time photos of celebrities transporting guests back in time to the glitz and glamor of old Hollywood. The resort has since renovated and become a stylish and modern escape among San Diego hotels with a beautiful seaside location, perfectly manicured property and a wealth of amenities. But, the La Costa Film Festival is bringing old Hollywood and the glamor of the film industry back to this decadent San Diego resort.
The La Costa Film Festival will feature food, drink and plenty of cinematic entertainment. Screenings will be shown at the outdoor La Costa Resort and Spa venue as well as La Costa Cinepolis Theatre and the Ruby G. Schulman Theatre located right next to the resort. For entertainment lovers, cinematic critics and visitors who love the arts, the inaugural La Costa Film Festival is a San Diego event not to be missed!
*There will be multiple film comepetitions in different categories and a stylish opening gala to kick-off the festivities. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad and film submissions for the festival are now being accepted with a deadline of June 15th.
