La Jolla Festival of the Arts
Head to the University of California San Diego this weekend for the 26th annual La Jolla Festival of the Arts. Nicknamed the "La Jolla," this art show has become one of the most prestigious juried art shows in the country featuring hundreds of artists working in a variety of mediums. The show is put on every year by the Torrey Pine Kiwanis to raise money for various sports and recreation programs specifically for San Diegans with disabilities.
The La Jolla Art Festival will be open on Saturday, June 23 from 10am to 6pm, and on Sunday, June 24 from 10am to 5pm on Warren Field at UCSD. Get your tickets online through Friday for only $12, otherwise you can purchase them at the gate for $14, and kids 16 and under are FREE. There is a special VIP Pass available online for only $50, which includes:
- 2 days admission for 2 adults
- VIP parking
- Special Souvenir
- Access to the VIP tent
Along with over 190 artists, there will be a "Restaurant Row" with various food trucks and local caterers as well as adult beverages and live musical entertainment throughout the festival. I will be there with Stone Catering (a branch of the Stone Brewing Co.), and we will be serving Stone's favorite festival food. Stop by for a bite, a brew and some music while you peruse the art.
