San Diego Events for the Weekend of April 27th
San Diego is a hot spot for fun events and activities, and this upcoming weekend is no exception. This city will be hopping with everything from music festivals and art exhibitions to the famous grunion run along the beach. It's a great time to be in San Diego and the weather is supposed to be beautiful, so get outside and head to some of the hottest San Diego events of the weekend!
- 2013 Adams Avenue Unplugged: Formerly known as the "Roots Festival", Adams Avenue Unplugged is a not-to-be-missed San Diego event and it's FREE! This two-mile music festival features over 100 live music performances, street vendors and plenty of food options. Many local restaurants and bars get in on the action and feature live music along with three outdoor stages. Adams Avenue will be packed with trendy and hipster music lovers from all over San Diego and out of town looking to spend the day in the sun listening to some awesome bands. (Saturday from 11am - 9pm, Sunday from noon - 7pm on Adams Avenue just east of Interstate 805)
- Mission Federal ArtWalk: The completely FREE Mission Federal ArtWalk is the perfect place to be this weekend to get in on art culture and have some family-friendly fun. Taking over the streets of Little Italy, April 27 & 28 from 11am - 6pm, the Mission Federal ArtWalk is a San Diego event visitors of all ages can enjoy. 17 blocks of Little Italy will be filled with paintings, sculpture, jewelry and more, celebrating all forms or art. The performing arts haven't been forgotten either with live music and dance performances. The kids will also have a blast with KidsWalk featuring interactive art the whole family will love! - Mariachi Festival in National City: 2013 marks the first year the Mariachi Festival is heading to National City and it's sure to be a fun one. The festival is combined with a Cinco de Mayo Celebration on April 27th at Pepper Park starting at 11am. This event is 100% FREE and family-friendly. Come celebrate the history of Cinco de Mayo
- Grunion Run at Birch Aquarium: This Saturday, April 27th, visitors and locals can check out all of the late night grunion action with the Grunion Run at Birch Aquarium! From 10:30pm - 12:30am guests can see hundreds of the tiny silver grunion fish hitting the beaches of La Jolla as they spawn. It's an incredible sight to see and tickets must be ordered in advance so contact Birch Aquarium for more information.
