San Diego Zoo Celebrates Kids Free in October!
Lots of communities are starting to feel the effects of the recent government shutdown. One of things affected by the shut down has been travel and tourism destinations. Though lots of federal landmarks and national parks are closed down indefinitely, you can still book your San Diego vacation with peace of mind. Great weather and tons of local attractions means America's City is still up and running!
One of the biggest and most popular attractions is, of course, the San Diego Zoo. San Diego's world famous zoo is a nonprofit organization, and is not funded by the government so it will remain open through the shutdown. And, while the National Panda-Cam may be offline, you can still come see the pandas in person at the San Diego Zoo! The Zoo's pandas, Bai Yun, Gao Gao, Yun Zi and Xiao Liwu are crowd favorites and often command the most attention out of all the exhibits at the zoo. These popular pandas enjoy a large naturalistic enclosure with tons of vegetation and climbing structures which mimic their home environment.
