Looking for some fresh produce and a way to support San Diego’s local farmers? This San Diego Farmer’s Market occurs every Wednesday from 4-8 pm, and is located on the 4900 block of Newport Avenue, between Cable and Bacon Streets in Ocean Beach. The Ocean Beach Farmer’s Market has the same free-spirited and funky vibe of the rest of this beach side neighborhood; browsing through the countless vendors of fresh produce, tasty ready to eat meal options, and interesting homemade arts and crafts is accompanied by live music, incense, and beach side weather. Feel free to sample any of the delicious offerings to try and determine what scrumptious fruits, vegetables, hummus or cheeses will be coming home with you. Don’t get too filled up on samples though, as there are plenty of choices for dinner, such as street tacos (for just $1.50), sandwiches, and more unusual and carb-friendly offerings like Torpastas (baguette stuffed with delicious pastas). Don’t miss out on the fresh seafood either--Ocean Beach is right on the water afterall, and the oysters in particular are quite popular. Other highlights include: authentic crepes, ceviche, and tamales, and plenty of people-watching opportunities.
